Middle Tennessee Carriage Club
Message from the President

Hi MTCC Friends,

The January 2019 club annual meeting was exciting with a large group attending and a lot of energy and interest for events in 2019.  Again we are grateful to the TN Equine Hospital for the use of their meeting room.  A big congratulations to the MTCC members winning 2018 TN Carriage Driving High-point championships: Earl Burkett (Champ Training Horse), Claire Root (Reserve Champ Training Horse) and Kate Bushman (Champ Preliminary Horse).  Also many thanks to 2018 Most Valuable Volunteer Jane Muir.

Our 2019 events will kick off with a return to the Southern Equine Expo on February 23, demonstrating cones course driving in the main coliseum. Plans are forming for a marathon clinic and a games day in April. We are also are firm for a schooling HDT May 18 at Ardeth Obenauf's in Shelbyville, and a clinic day to follow May 19 with the HDT dressage judge Amy Neary.  We are investigating a pleasure drive at Hermitage Plantation over the summer.  Our driving derby will be in September. As usual, more events were discussed and will be announced once we get commitment for time and location. Please get your membership app in so you can be kept up to date!

Middle TN and Nashoba Carriage will be finalizing events to count towards the 2019 TN Carriage High Point awards. Details will be posted soon.

Warm regards,

Kate
